I don't know if this has been posted yet but this is probably the best statement about the men and women's bball teams...

Many thanks JustAMercuryfan You've saved me work & headaches of frustration by supplying those lines. I'm copying them onto 1 page in my e-mail draft section. That way I can keep on updating them onto the same page & print when needed.

Most excellent article. GIRLS RULE. :D
We know we're better than the men. It's just taking the world a little longer to realize it. |

Can we lose the word "Women's" from the front of "Women's Dream Team" please.
It is now an unnecessary prefix, as the men's team have no right to the words "Dream" or even "Team" anymore. |

I gained a little respect for Allen Iverson. He didn't make any excuses for the loss, just that they were out played pure and simple. It was refreshing after listening to Doug Collins, Bob Costas and everyone making excuses for why the men don't perform up to expectations.
I like how the women just go out and perform, no excuses. I know its a little off topic, but I just needed to vent. :) |

Quote: Today this group will be back at the same arena to watch the U.S. men open their gold quest against Puerto Rico.
When it was mentioned to Taurasi that the U.S. men weren't on hand to cheer for the women's first game, she seemed disappointed.
"They didn't come," Taurasi said, then brightened. "I'll still come to see Puerto Rico play. They got some cute guys on that team."
Reading the context of the quote it, seems more of a backhanded "dis" of the U.S. men, than a statement of affection for the Puerto Ricans. |

Diana knows how to dis in a backhanded way...she would do it while at college. Obviously, that is still true.
There are some good looking men on the Puerto Rican team though. |
