Should be a much better game than round 1. Expecting the starters will be there throughout and in the end instead of bench-bound like @ LA.

Two sets of stats jump out here.

One, the top fivesome all played at least 28 minutes tonight--Lisa played all 40, and Grubin 37. Quite a contrast from the game in LA, but maybe too much. Kayte and Bobo could have used a few more minutes, especially Kayte, who was feeling it tonight. Is she ever going to break the 6 point barrier in a game? Bonfiglio didn't play at all--LH might have been more effective in the long run if Susanna had given her a breather here and there.

Second

When LA took a timeout down 38-33, the shooting numbers were:
LA 14-33 from the field, 1-5 from three
Phoenix 13-29 from the field, 4-8 from three

From that point to the end of the game, the numbers were:
LA 19-34 from the field, 6-8 from three
Phoenix 15-47 from the field, 2-11 from three

What was up with that? You would have thought we were the ones coming off an exhausting win last night instead of LA.

The bench should've been played more.

Sad to say it but it's obvious L.A just have too many guns atm for us to be able to compete with them.

That was, um, disappointing...we couldn't score or rebound down low consistently at all...we REALLY miss Maria down in the blocks...I still argue that Tuvic and Katey are better starters then Adrian and Jenn...

...did you hear Adrain was changing her name to...

A'rain

...know why? CAUSE THE GIRL HAS NO "D"!

Frustrating loss, because Keeg is right...they've got more punch. I think some of it is simply having more swagger out there on the floor...we did ok for a while, but we were NOT mentally tough last night...we started playing not to lose, playing beat in the major part of the second half...you have to have it mentally TOO! When that happened, they stop posting up, started popping up more 3's, etc...and when that happens, its usually an L against a good team...darn. I hate losing LA teams, and Loser Leslie in particular!

No one person is to blame for that horribe second half but some things stick out.......Out rebounded 45-28! Tuvic had no RBs. Adrain had a hard time holding onto the ball and didn't finish when the opportunity was there. We allowed way too many points in the paint (just about half!). Maybe Barnes should have been covering Byears.

They really missed Bonfiglio's penetration. Hopefully she's healthy for the road trip.

Great first half......at least up to the last 2 minutes where the momentum broke......and that was all she wrote.

Great teams stick to their game plan. The Mercury did somewhat in the first half, however, the team had another mental breakdown and the Spark took over from there. If the players run their game, we will always have a chance to win at the end.

Question: :?: Why did Saunders start? Did Moises do something to make Linda mad?

Normally, Bonfiglio would have started but she was resting an injury (knee/cartilage?) that they want to get better for the road trip. Assuming they would rather have Moises as a spark off the bench so Saunders got the start.
