... interesting. It will add another dimension to the trans-Tasman contest though we'd still roll NZ.
And f*ck you Basketball Australia for letting this happen! Fire Jan now!
EDIT: Oh and Canberra won the right to host the grand final with a 68-67 win over Townsville. LJ won the game with 10 secs to go with a three point play. She had 38 points, 21 rebounds, 9 blocks, 3 assists and 2 steals!
Vealy had 5 points (2/9 FG), 6 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks and 5 turnovers. A bit disappointing and I hope she can get it together soon. I have faith in her. |

Yeah, Vealy's shot selection was rather questionable. I'm fine with her launching 3's, but some of those off-balance jumpers were pretty ill-advised IMO.
On the other hand, she made a few *sweet* passes.
Lauren was just amazing though.
Townsville could barely have defended her better, and yet she still racks up 38.
Fantastic game of basketball, as Caune will find out on Monday + about 2 weeks. |

Article on Shelly Hammonds (worth a look in the second round '04 draft?):

Her team will face Lauren Jackson and Kristen Veal's Capitals in the WNBL finals. Coach Graf lead this team to the title last season. She is taking a break this season. |
