Columbia College women beat Harris-Stowe by 120 points
Jan 29, 12:51 AM (ET)
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Columbia College, which only began fielding a women's basketball team last season after a 23-year layoff, beat Harris-Stowe 134-14 Tuesday night.
All eight players scored in double figures - five outscored Harris-Stowe's entire team - as the Lady Cougars put up the second-most points and recorded the second-largest margin of victory ever in an NAIA women's game.
Oklahoma Baptist holds both records with its 159-17 victory over Southwest Adventist on Nov. 4, 1995.
The NCAA record for margin of victory is 122 points, set in West Texas A&M's 155-33 win over National Christian on Nov. 9, 2001.
Missy Wilt's 25 points led Columbia, which was up 66-2 at halftime. Lisa Kowalewski added 21 points, with A.J. Jandles adding 18, Tiffany Foote 17, Mindy Mitchem 15, Kylie Evans 13 and B.J. Homer and Katie Dorson 12 apiece. |
