The Mercury have the new coaching staff and the new vision, but what about a new slogan? Last season it was "Join Our Mission"......something like that. It was so uninspiring I forget ;)
Anyone have thoughts on a slogan for 2003? Maybe Seth needs to get a contest going on this before they come up with something lame all on their own :oops: |

| Well the theme they are trying to stress this season is "The Fun Is Back" but maybe someone has a catchy slogan that wraps up the sentiment in a memorable fashion :?: |

| How about "The Best is Yet to Come". We have several things to look forward to in the coming seasons, a championship being the best. |

Sounds good...how about "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" for a song.
Would love to see a commercial that shows the following:
(With apologies to Gia, her idea originally)
Hardaway no look assist...Veal no look dish
Marbury drive and finger roll...Moises scoop shot
Suns player fade-away...Jen fade away
Amare blocking a shot...Maria being the Russian rejector
Marion diving for a loose ball...Kayte showing why she wears kneepads
The Gorilla with fans...Skorch(sp?) with some kids, etc. etc. |

The Fun is Back is a good theme....is that the slogan or the concept to create a slogan I wonder.
Anyway.....my idea for a commercial......
Black & White film footage all scratchy of early women's basketball game with silly uniforms, one bounce, then pass, one bounce then pass, underhand shot. Old music in the background, ...........Cut to high enery music and 3 quick shots of Maria, Adrain, Jaynetta(?) dunking. Slam! Slam! Slam!
Then tagline.....(maybe Jen says this)
"This ain't your granny's basketball team!" |

reminds me --- that great Nike spoof video that they had on the Official Site. THAT was really good...don't recall all in that but Step and others with ball handling skills and then at the end Jenn just strolls across the front. :lol: Would love to see that one again :D |

I saw Coach Shumate at a high school basketball game and he was wearing his MERCURY t-shirt. Everytime I've seen him he's had on his Mercury t-shirt. He must have gotten 365 of them!
Safe to say that the man is still psyched about his job :) |

The man has passion. Shu has met with season ticket holding groups that are indecisive about renewing. His infectious enthusiasm wins them over.
Mercury games should and will be fun again this year! |
