Nothing new in this for most of us, but good to see a knowledgeable professional taking it to the top.

WNBA

SUBJECT: A PROBLEM NEGATIVELY AFFECTING FANS
Dear Ms. Orender,
I have thought a lot about whether I should write this letter or not. I am a season ticket holder at the Phoenix Mercury and witnessed a situation that is causing the Mercury to lose season ticket holders and maybe someday, players as well.
I am the President of an auto racing sanction (league). I have been a basketball coach for both boys and girls high school basketball. I had a chance to coach women’s basketball in college. I worked for John Macleod when he was the coach of the Phoenix Suns. I hold BSEE and MBA degrees and have a successful business background. So, I think I have enough of a background to make the comments in this letter. You may learn more about me at www.professionalautosports.com.
So, here it is. You have an official that is bad! I am not sure of his name, but he is #18 and I believe his name may be Kurt Walker.
I have witnessed his behavior on court in Phoenix several times the last 2 years. The worst behavior was displayed at the Mercury-Liberty game Saturday July 5th. In this game he affected the game with arrogant behavior, towards the players and coaches, vindictiveness, and behavior that could only be described as narcissistic. |

The letter writer is 100% correct. I was watching this a-hole through my binoculars and he was constantly watching to see if he got a reaction from DT. He ALWAYS has this scowl on his face also.
I'm hoping we find out if DO responds positively instead of the old company line crap. Thanks 1carol for the link. |

Unfortunate that this is happening. But, I appreciate that other people feel the way I do and its not 'just me'. I distinctly remember this game and the situation he's talking about. The league has enough challenges without this type of unprofessional behaviour on the part of the refs.
I appreciate this person putting himself out there for all the Mercury fans.
THANK YOU! Let me know where the petition to Donna O is going to be...I'll stand in line to sign it! |
