Mercury WIN 89 - 79 :D

many contributions:
Tan 16 pts + 12 rbd
Millertime 17 pts + 6 rbd
Ferris 11 pts + 5 rbd
DT only 16 pts but 9 ast
methinks DT & CP23 were double teamed & others made up for it - only a guess of course

Great win. 6 players in double figures. That is very impressive. Cappie and Dee both had rough nights but came up big when we needed them. We are within one game of .500. I knew we would break ouf the slump. Go Mercury!

I can't remember the last time I saw the boxscore say that all 5 starters had double digits. That's awesome...and a win...bringing back their AWESOMENESS! (If you haven't seen Kung Fu Panda, watch it  )

Quote: "We have the nucleus back but it still takes a little bit time to get used to each other,'' Taurasi said. "We're looking at all these games as a training camp as getting in condition to play the way we want to play mentally and physically. It's starting to come together a little bit.''

Quote: The Sky set a franchise record with 25 offensive rebounds. The previous best was 20, set on June 21, 2006, at Indiana. Chicago had 20 offensive rebounds in the first half.

"They had 25?'' Taurasi said. "It felt like they had 105. You know what, we're used to getting people world records. But as long as we get the 'W' we don't mind.'' :D 8)

Quote: The Mercury spread the wealth again Thursday night, as six players scored in double figures in an 89-79 victory over the Sky.

But it was defense that sealed the deal, as the Mercury (6-7) claimed their fourth win in their past five games.

"It was our intensity on the defensive end," Mercury guard and Chicago native Cappie Pondexter said. "A lot of people say we score points, but at the same time we can defend, too, when we put our minds to it. Right now, we're doing to small things to make it happen."

Guard Kelly Miller paced the Mercury with 17 points, including 11 in the second half as her team improved to 2-1 on this five-game trip.

the offensive rebounding stat always makes me laugh...because it means the other team are missing so many shots they have to rebound on offense...that'll never be our problem
