Christensen played five seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, which selected her in the third round of the 2002 draft. Chicago signed the 6-foot-2 forward last season to a two-year guaranteed contract, which is why she is calling her time off a paid vacation.
Having visited with her at the last two Mercury games; I can verify that she is still the bright, sweet, 'Kayte' fans in every city she played came to know and love. She was/is an exceptionally hard worker on and off the court, possessing great charm. She appears very content with her situation and I wish ( and expect) nothing but success for her.
