but. . . which 2 players do we sign to 10 day contracts that keep extending while Penney & Snelly aren't here? Then again it gives us the opportunity to try out several.
methinks Penney may have earned enough money in Russia to want to give her body a 2 month rest before the Olympics. She's also building a house in OZ (or planning it). |

Said theory would have our roster looking something like this:
PG: Miller/Derevjanik
SG: Pondexter/Mazzante
SF: Taurasi/Snell
PF: Taylor/Pringle
C: TSmith/Farris
IA: McKiver/Willingham
Cam, your thoughts on DMJ...Derevjanik and a 2009 pick???

Training camp started today....04/20. They are scheduled to have two practices a day.
Pringle had minor knee surgery and will not start camp. I don't know her status or when she will be ready.

The way the roster is published, it looks like it is set. Looks like we will be getting off to a slow start again this season.
I'm just hoping that we will have our starters by the start of the season and Celebration Saturday. |

Quote: Meanwhile, Taylor and Snell, who are still considering possibly skipping the WNBA season in favor of staying home in Australia to prepare for the Olympics, will be at US Airways Center for at least the season opener, when the championship banner is raised and the rings are passed out.
Paul Westhead, who coached the Mercury to the title but left the team to be an assistant with the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics, will also be in attendance. Corey Gaines, an assistant the last two years, is the team's new head coach.

I would do it only for one year...and only if Penny isn't coming. |

Quote: Up until this point, the WNBA Champions have been auditioning a group of six players to fill two open slots on the roster. Head coach Corey Gaines believes that he will add two players by the end of camp. Currently, the two that have made the most impression on him play in the backcourt, although Phoenix will most likely decide to sign one post player and one perimeter player.
The two rookies that have stood out the most have been Utah's Leilani Mitchell and Japanese import Yuko Oga.
Shin (Oga) and Leilani are both up-tempo point guards that fit into the system well, Gaines said. Shin has her speed and Leilani has her skills.

| So was Mitchell basically traded for a pack of gum? Third round pick? Who'd be left and do any third rounders make teams aside from Kayte? |

I'd say about one third rounder every year ends up having some sort of decent career in the league. Even Kayte's become irrelevant since leaving the Merc.
7% - I like our odds ;) |

| A future third round pick can always be filler in a trade. |
