The offer might have been presented by the Phoenix Mercury but it was sponsored by the valley Kentucky Fried Chicken outlets.
I keep looking to see what, if any, activity the Mercury are involved in and don't see much action. I am sure some of it is a catch 22....either they know a player will be matched and it is a waste of time to go after them...or if too many offers are made and not matched we could be in trouble with the cap.
I am not a big fan of over spending just to get a body in here. As I recall, most fans weren't last year...i.e. Olympia Scott. Her max contract will be going Dee's direction and I am not sure what we really have left.
Bottom line for me is that even though we had the team last season to take it all, we can not sit back on our laurels and think the magic will happen again if we don't make some improvements. With the activity in the West this off season, it would be a mistake, IMO to not make some moves to improve.
Does anyone know if there is anyone out there who could possibly help us? I don't see many free agents available that could do us any good.
Any suggestions? |

also. . . . we were very fortunate to be (major) injury free
IMO we don't need veteran leadership (w/o skill level) players cuz we have coach Pettis to motivate & keep the team cohesive |
