Jen was a real sweetie and at least she'll get a chance to get off the bench in Atlanta

Best of luck, Jen Lacy.

Honestly, I had expected to lose Jen Derevjanik.

Caune, is the RebKell site down?

Same here.

Of course, I didn't foresee the Latta trade. I figured Cash would be moved for a pick (still may happen), while Latta starts with Nolan and Smith. Now, Bill will have to get a point guard somehow, as Smith is in her mid-30s.

Even so, I am not sure what Haynie brings to the table (other than three point shooting) over Derevjanik.

Derevjanik also demonstrated she can start and run a team (which she did when Kelly Miller was out in 2006).

Haynie's best year shooting (overall shooting percentage) was in 2006 - 36.4 percent. Derejanik's career average is 43.1 percent shooting.

Haynie's career A/TO is 1.18-to-1. Derevjanik's career A/TO is 1.88-to-1. Rebounds are the same, though Derevjanik has a better per-minute average.

The only thing Haynie is better at is three-point shooting. Considering she averages 12 made threes per year (but made 22 last year) and Derevjanik has only made 9 in her career, is that really worth taking her over Derevjanik? They are basically the same age (Derevjanik is one year older).

Count me as very happy we still have Jen D., and thankful Jen Lacy's salary is off our payroll.

If AMD is smart she'll make Olympia a glorified assistant to free up her salary as well. She should also look at Swin Cash and Janell Burse.

My mind has been away from the WNBA, so more later...

Funny you should say that. My mind has been really dim lately, but moron that later.

For now I just want to wave goodbye & say thanks to Jen Lacy.
She was an absolute longshot who managed to stick on a roster that went on to win a WNBA championship, and now she had gotten herself chosen in an expansion draft, which is a pretty good effort for a player struggling for the minutes to prove herself.

Thanks, and all the best in Atlanta, Jen!

Olympia's contract is up. We got her in the third year of a three-year deal.

Agreed on Burse and Cash.
