11 rebounds and 11 assists (against the AIS). Could've had a triple double if she shot better (went 2/10 from the field including 1/8 from beyond the arc for 6 points). Only had 2 TOs. Quite worried about her offense but the Tom Maher factor is there (he can't coach offense for sh*t). I guess having LJ sort of overshadows that though (33 points off 13/23 shooting).

| It's interesting to note that Hollie Grima only picked up 4 points. She's the "hot thing" supposed to keep LJ honest in the WNBL this year. A name for the future, but not for last night? |

Hollie has trouble dealing with double and triple teams atm. More experience is the key. |

Latest Vealy game:
Not your typical Veal performance that's for sure
Only 3 assists, but 25 points @ 11/13 from the field (3/4 from outside) plus 8 rebounds |

No, sadly that wasn't the TV game this week :(
Pity, because Veal (18 points) & Jackson (27 points, 21 rebounds) were both in amazing form, and the Fire's 'big 3' all played well too, scoring 18+ each.
Instead, once I send you the next tape on Monday, you will see an uninspiring thrashing of the AIS.
On a positive note though, the playoffs are fast approaching, and Vealy always steps it up around that time :) |

Hey Dan,
What are your impressions of Shelly Hammonds at this time?
My thoughts are with those in Canberra suffering from the bushfires.
Is Tugger stadium safe? |

Hammonds is legit!
A friend had a chat to her after tonight's game & she indicated maybe heading to the W for the 2004 season.
I expect that by that time she'll be pushing for a first round spot.
Versatile small forward with a good all-around game, hard-working & athletic. Typical AIS product in the Penny Taylor mold (though I hate to use that comparison given my massive opinion of Penny, but I mean she's developing a genuine inside-outside game) |

Vealy's latest effort:
12 points, 8 assists & 5 steals (that's all the info I know at the moment - boxscore not available for several more hours) - against Adelaide earlier this evening.
btw this is tomorrow's TV replay game.
LJ chipped-in with a handy 31 points, 17 rebounds & 9 blocks.
Adelaide looking bad with the playoffs starting next weekend, but Vealy & LJ are timing their good form nicely it would seem.
Looks like being another Canberra-Sydney GF on current form, so hopefully some more sweet Veal footage awaits us, along with previews of other potential WNBA'ers Hammonds & Snell. |

| It was against Adelaide btw, not Sydney (Sydney are playing their last game of the regular season tomorrow). |

Oops - sorry - I knew it was Adelaide, guess my brain was already thinking ahead to the Sydney
game(s). Thanks for picking that up.
Vealy also had 2 blocked shots btw :)
