Funny how her game improves with the return of LJ ;) LJ had 34 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks (not too shabby lol).

I think Kristen plays better when she's not looked upon as a primary offensive option because it allows her to do what she does best... create. Of course I'm still waiting for her offense to return...

Wow.. LJ always seems to have awesome comeback games doesn't she.

13 assists & 4 t/o is an excellent return for Vealy. Judging by the comment on the Caps message board, there were plenty of touchdown passes in amongst them too ;)

Having someone else to focus on definitely does help Kristen though, you're right about that.

BTW was that the TV game for this week?

Vealy also had 5 Pts, 7 RBs, and a Steal.

Her first season she was hampered by coaching decisions. Her second year she was hampered by rehab. The third year might be the charm! :D

Yes. Not sure why because the Townsville/Dandenong game would've been a LOT more interesting than watching Canberra beat up on "4 guards and a post who thinks she's a guard" Bulleen. Maybe the ABC didn't want to cost of going up to Townsville though.

Way to go Veally and Lozza![

Dunkin' Dan or Keegan, would it be possible for a tape of that game to make it into Caune or my hands? We would e very gracious.

Gia, this color (colour as you blokes say it) is kinda fun once you get the hang of it.

You have access to a NTSC converter, don't you DD? I don't.

ABC's coverage of the game is lousy though. It's basically an one hour highlight package with ATROCIOUS editing (like they edited out key patches of the 4th quarter of the exciting Sydney/Canberra game).

When I *finally* get back to Oz I will be sending caune some WNBL tapes, so yeah you'll get to see Vealy.
Unfortunately it's a slow process, because
1) I have to wait until enough games get broadcast that are at least semi worth watching, and
2) (the main factor) the guy I know who converts the tapes for me to NTSC is extremely slow & unreliable

But yeah they will get there eventually I promise!

One thing Mercury fans won't see is Veal's downcourt passes to the waiting hands of Jackson. They've been doing it so long that it is almost a single motion. Lauren seems to know when the ball is coming, and in the last game wasn't dropping any.

Timmsy was commentating, and made a point of saying that Veal hadn't taken any shots until close to the end of the game. She didn't have to -- too busy firing the ball to Jacko.

You wanted scoring?
Vealy had 18 points today to go with her 5 assists in Canberra's 94-65 demolition of Townsville today.

The WNBL Website has improved quite a lot this season.
http://www.wnbl.com.au/

All the box scores are there, round-by-round (in a very pretty format :), though they're usually not posted until the morning after the game.
I don't think there are averages for each player though (apart from the top 10 scorers & rebounders)
She's had a few good scoring games [18, 17, 18] but Vealy's ppg isn't in the top 10 in the league just yet ;)

As for your DVD idea - I was gonna do the same thing, to save me having to transfer WNBL games into NTSC format to send over there (and also DVD's are cheaper to mail :) - but the prices for DVD Writers just aren't quite in my budget in time for this season unfortunately. It's definitely the way to go though!

:D thanks nice site and uni's :D looks like she is putting up some points and I'm sure getting some good minutes.. keep us posted on her play..

think the DVDR (DVDRecordables) are the route to go. I had heard that the DVDRs were more expensive which I haven't started pricing them locally but some places online found them large quantity can get down to .74 cents per disc. This would bring them closer in line with CDR recordings (have gotten down to .19 cents per CDR on 100ea spindles). I had heard/seen like $6 per DVDR  Like you said mailing them would be easier/cheaper as well and they would all be original quality for everyone to view. :D
