Dell Computer Corp. Signs Sponsorship Agreement With NBA

New York, Oct. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Dell Computer Corp., the largest maker of personal computers, signed a multiyear contract to become the official desktop, notebook and server of of the National Basketball Association and its women's league.
Dell computers will be used in arenas to record statistical information on NBA and WNBA games. In addition, NBA referees will use Dell computers to review their performance after games.
The company also will be promoted during national NBA telecasts and on the league's Web site, Dell and the NBA said in a statement. No financial terms were disclosed.
International Business Machines Corp., which was an NBA sponsor last year, will probably continue its association with the league in a role that has yet to be determined, league spokesman Matt Bourne said. |
