CORRECTION...

First got word it was a cut. Then got word it was kind of a cut. Then got word she is no longer with the team. All from the same person!

I hate it when people are cryptic.

I said the same thing.

Sounds like a trade to avoid having to make a cut.

In order to avoid making a cut, wouldn't it have to be a give away?

Shock acquires Angelina Williams from the Phoenix Mercury in exchange for Detroit's two third round draft picks in 2007.

To answer your question, that is a giveaway. Terrible.

Yeah, I almost find that more insulting than a give away. THIRD ROUND??? WTF...

When neither third round pick (unless it is an Aussie who stays in Oz for a few years to develop) makes the roster, it is as if we cut her.

Terrible. Just terrible.

Angelina may get there...she has a higher ceiling. But with a higher ceiling comes a lower floor.

But I will say this...potential has led us to the lottery. We need kids to realize the talent immediately.

The good news? Snell.
The bad news? I truly believe Angelina will reach the ceiling.

The Phoenix Mercury traded Angelina Williams to the Detroit Shock for Detroit's own 2007 third round Draft pick and the 2007 Third round Draft pick that Detroit received from Minnesota in the Batteast/Anderson trade.

The Phoenix Mercury have waived Shereka Wright.

Second verse, same as the first? Disappointing.

Wright gets paid for the season, because she was injured in camp. It does free up a roster spot. And we don't have cap issues, with so many rookies and young players, plus no Maria.

I'm sorry to see Angelina go, and wish her luck in Detroit.
I understand the business side, get something for a player you plan on cutting...but damn, cut Angelina?
I guess her practices are like her game, only flashes of brilliance

And Shereka, we'll miss you at Majerles :(
Good luck with the coaching, Go Texas Tech!
