Vodichkova says that she isn’t completely new to running because the European game is faster than the WNBA standard, but this amount of running for the duration of a game is new to her.

Although she will only have practiced with the team for five days prior to their season opener, fans should expect to see “Killa” in the starting line-up on Saturday as the Mercury take on the reigning WNBA Champion Sacramento Monarchs.

“She fits my fast break style as a five,” Westhead said. “She is a very good shooter, rebounds well and is very good at outletting the ball. She is a very experienced player who knows the game of basketball.”
