Just wanted to let you all know that Kayte is playing this off-season in Turkey and is currently playing with her team in a couple of exhibition tournaments in Hungary to prepare for the upcoming season. The team is undefeated so far in exhibition play.

Kayte is joined on the team with two other Americans - LaToya Turner, who was in Phoenix's training camp this past season, and Stacey Thomas, who played for the Mercury in the past and was traded to Minnesota from Detroit mid-season in the Katie Smith transaction this year.

I'll try to send updates as the year progresses, but for now, she says "hello from Hungary".

hanee,

Kayte was cut to make room for Maria Stepanova and to allow us the flexibility to sign a guard....Niele Ivy.

Kayte was never injured. In fact, she tried out for and almost made the LA Sparks team shortly after Phoenix let her go.

This is Kayte's first REAL attempt at European ball and I, for one, wish her better than well.

Plenette was traded and Stinson was waived to make room for Maria Stepanova.

Kayte was cut before the deadline (when contracts are for the full season) around July 7. Niele Ivey was signed on July 15, but the team was looking to sign a point guard (pick one up from the waiver wire) after Kayte was waived (e.g., Tynesha Lewis, Ivey, etc.).

I found this in the Turkish basketball federation website.

Yes, it's in Turkish (obviously), but I think this is the name of her team!

Right now though the link to the team website is down. :?
