And on the day the phrase "flimsy excuse for a post" was re-defined, we all sat in awe and watched.

I'm hoping that was an excuse for humor...

but seriously, how deep would our doo doo be if Maria hadn't have shown up? They need to treat this like Maria is injured and on the side lines and step up to the plate.

We have an excellent team but with Dee limping and the foulitis we've caught LA could very well overtake us for the play off spot, but it ain't over till the fat lady sings and predictions are just educated guesses, no use in making one
I'll just scream loud and support my team, yep, I'm a homer baby and proud of it!

I don't need an excuse for my sense of humor.

A lot deeper and a lot sooner, no doubt.

Exactly my point.

A prediction was requested by the poll, it just did not reflect the potential direness of the situation or more importantly one's ability to express their opinions on it via a vote.

No one will be cheering more if I'm wrong than me.

Oh... I get it.... you meant Homer Simpson

Hey you
I think caune was referring to cam's attempt at humor.
Let's shake hands (over our keyboards) and agree we are all great Mercury fans. Let the past thread stay in the past & I'll buy you a drink.
(after my little tiny itty bitty attempt at Homer humor)

Iam so ashamed of myself. Thank you peoriamercfan for enlightening me with how an "intelligent" and "serious" thread should be. Tell me, though, how do I intelligently create a balanced conversation with "deep, deep doo-doo."

Let me give it a try....balance right......intelligent right.....

Sugar plums and fairy dust? Nah, just doesn't do it but maybe in the ballpark.

Hmmm....this is difficult for an irresponsible homer like me....

The Mercury will be tip toeing through the meadows, sweet with the aroma of wild flowers, on their way to a play off spot.

How's that for balance.

ROFL, change that quote from The Mercury to The Diana and you'll get a side splitting visual :D :D

Ah, the common message board reply questioning maturity. How very 21st century of you.

You may not believe this, but I really did want them to get in the playoffs and win, I am a fan. I guess my frustration was aimed inapporpriately at that poll, when it should have been aimed at the team and the circumstance, but I really did have the feeling they would finish at 2-4. I am usually up for a good cyber-brawl, though, and I'll admit it was a bait. Worked too. ;)

See you next summer.
