So, how long is Maria here this year, exactly?

Last I'd heard it was mid-August, and then NL's column on ESPN sited the end of July (I know - not the most reliable source).... So I'm turning to more reliable sources - you all. Did Seth manage to pull some strings after all? :D

Any word as to how practice is going with her in the mix?

From what I've been able to gather, these two words don't really play
well together in a sentence. There are certainly reasons for her to
leave before the season is over (overseas obligations, etc.), but many
a reputation has been tainted attempting to predict her behaviour.

Not one really knows.

I think I can speak for most fans who wish she'd stay till mid Sept, but as mranderso put it "Maria & exactly" don't work well in the same sentence.

Dunkin Dan, mb's hands have graced that mini by invitation a time or two...imagine this: dancing in Majerle's back room, with Hip-hop dancers of the past and Bridget Pettis leading the way...Maria wearing white hip hugger Daisy Dukes asks mb to dance...'twasn't a dream

the leopard mini was the best...from the first (original) location for A League Of Our Own...there is a digital picture (with mb's bald head about chest high to Step and a hidden handfull of glutes) floating around somewhere...board host???

Back to basketball...Coop used to HATE it, yet Maria would step out and knock down (SWISH!) a 12 to 17 jumper now and then. She changed and blocked shots in the paint and averaged a double-double the last few games of that season.

When she throws down a real dunk, erasing that lame arse attempt from horsey, then (IMHO) the effort to get her here at all was worth it.

When she helps us start a win streak and undeafeated series at home, we get the bonus.

Now to baseball...(sleep deprived, overworked mb will get two days off in a row for the second time all year this weekend!)...needed a segway, and those in the know will understand the following:

One of Roberto Alamar's many ex's stopped by with a friend for some recreation with mb the other night...Hungarian, similar in looks to Gergana.

Prior to the festivities, I was watching recaps of the NBA draft on ESPN...later there is Mary Pierce...and my friend details to her friend about living in PV, a certain player being a player, and other import details to be shared at the next Brigade gathering.

Maria Stepanova will stay if the Mercury make the playoffs according to Kamila. If not, then yes, she will go back to Russia. Can't blame her on that one. Lets just hope the Mercury keep winning as they did tonight versus Washington so that we can make the playoffs. The Mercury are finally peaking and Stepanova is a monster and she is really making a huge difference !!!!

Lets just hope Diana's knee doesn't get any worse !!!
