One can only hope that the momentum that the Merc built up during the second half of their win against San Antonio can carry through this weekend when they go to the Garden to take on the Liberty. New York has run hot and cold thus far this season but we'll need to play a pretty balanced game to get by them. Reduction of road-game turnovers, defensive rebounding and limiting their perimeter looks have to be priority items.

Penny usually has good games against NY so I'm confident she'll bounce back from her limited performance on Wednesday. Crystal Robinson will have to bring her defensive A-game to handle all of Penny's looks.

The key match-up to watch will be Plenette on Elena Baranova; a good defensive player who by the way, has no problem stepping out behind the arc and hitting consistantly. I'm hoping Plenette can find creative ways to get looks for herself and body-up on EB on the other end of the court without getting into foul trouble.

This will either be a grind it out kind of defensive battle or a run and gun shoot out between two high voltage shooting teams. I'm looking forward to a good win here in front of a big audience to announce to the rest of the league that will all of our pieces in place (or are we missing one?;-), we're legit contenders to watch out for.

And since the paper says we are 0-9 all time at the Garden, it would be SWEET to get the win there. Another hurdle overcome like not winning in LA since '97. Adds greatly to the confidence coffers.

I think limiting turnovers is the key for us - when I checked last week, we had 3 of the top 5 in the W on the list for most TOs. That's not a list I like us dominating!

Just finished watching the game on tivo.

Yuck! We seem to be doing a lot of one on one and not running offensive sets. Kamilla was effective in the post, yet we didn't try to get the ball into her. We set up PP more times and she has not touch with the 5 foot jumper or lay in.

Aside from back to back turnovers, there wasn't a whole lot that we did well.

I'm just curious why the bench isn't getting more play, the starters seemed unorganized, so why not give the bench a few minutes so they can collect themselves. We definitely had a chance to win this game, yet didn't play a lot of team ball.

Getting Maria back will give more of a presence in the middle, but if our guards don't look for her, it won't matter on offense.
