In looking at the early season results, Shereka Wright has really improved her game. The added upper body strength has allowed her to drive and go up strong, drawing fouls (whereas last year, she had the shot blocked).

In high school and college, she averaged 8 free throw attempts per game. The added strength (and minutes) have allowed her to display that skill on the professional level.

While her minutes may go down with Penny back, I would love to see her get some backup minutes at the 2 as well as the 3. She has the athletic ability that is an asset on defense. Plus, in a lineup with Diana/Anna, Anna/Penny, Diana/Penny, she would provide a slashing ability to complement the aforementioned players' outside shooting.

I agree cam. The other thing I like about Freaky Reke's game is that she will take and make the outside shot. That is something that really helps her to slash and penetrate. When the defense has to respect her ability to put down the long shot, it will give her the step she may need to make her move inside.

I really like Ashley's aggressive attititude this season too. She has made some great moves around the basket. I like the way Carrie has used her for full court pressure too. She has such a large wingspan it is difficult to get around her. She has shown she has the speed to adjust to the ball and it frees up DT and Anna from having to use up their needed energy by trying to pressure the ball.

Ashley improved a lot over last seeason. Her confidence is up & at least this year she gets aggresive under the basket & tries to defend & make shots. Sometimes she succeeds, but she's been getting pushed and bumped out of the way too easily. I think she could prevent that if she bulks up a bit more like our freaky reke, who I think is doing marvelous. It will be interesting to see who will be the most improved by the end of the season. We should get a contest going and be sure they both know about it.

i have to agree with shereka. watching her slash to the basket and draw fouls has been magnificent so far!
she's not just filling in court space out there, she's making a positive difference!

and i'm pleased with ashley's improvement. she seems much more aggressive. we know she still has a long way to go, bulking up, etc, but i think she is going in the right direction.

I know this may not count under the 'most improved' category but it seems to me like Anna is playing even more solidly than she did last season as well.
