Penny is back, Kamila will be arriving the day before. Penny will be called upon to exploit Seattle's biggest hole...small forward. Diana will need to contain Bird's dribble penetration, though we may see Anna and Diana switching on Lennox and Bird.
It will be interesting to see how we defend Lauren Jackson. Maybe Kamila will bring along a few secrets... |

I'd put Kamila on LJ (she knows LJ's game well)and try to cheat off Burse. Burse is still very raw and her jumper isn't that good.
Iziane wasn't a good defender at the Olympics but played good D on Swoopes in Seattle's comeback win against Houston. She is also a dangerous offensive player - we shouldn't try to cheat off her! |

My thoughts on the roster juggling we'll have to do before the Seattle game.
I'm thinking Sandora and Angelina will go on IR before the next game. Sandora has a legit illness and it sounds like it might take her a bit to get over it. Angelina will develop a right bruise on her leg, inflicted by clumsy platypuses serving drinks at Majerles. Shereka is much more polished than Angelina and time on IR for Angelina will give her time to get adjusted to the WNBA and team ball (evidently something that wasn't taught to her by the Grentz at Illinois). Also, we need our bazillion power forwards because #1 they foul a lot and #2 they don't always show up at the same time. |

I am thinking Lisa Harrison should go on the IR. Angelina Williams is much more athletic and would be a better defensive matchup on someone like Izzy. Shereka Wright's athleticism is another asset. Plus, with Izzy not being a great defender, Shereka can take her off the dribble.
I would like to see Shereka rotated in more at the 2, given Penny will be playing quite a few minutes at the three. |

Sandora and Lisa to IR sounds best.
Shereka needs to take it to the hole like she did two games ago.
Also anxious to see Angelina's athleticism.
We MUST get more production in the paint.
We must get out to a fast start (which it appeared we were doing last game).
Frustrating LJ will be important.
Hope the days between games are being thoroughly utilized. |

The Mercury should win this game. It appears that the fans and the team will be pumped up knowing that Taylor and Kamilia will be back. I think the game is on TV but why not just go to the game ???
Go Mercury !!! |

It's called Audio Season Pass and yes, you can still get it.
Even better, it is now free, just like the broadband video feed.
Go to http://www.wnba.com/broadband/ to sign up. |

Since we are on the subject of broadband...................am I the only one that seems to be having this problem:?
The screen kinda freezes every so often and I miss half the plays!!!
Is this normal ?
I'll live with it if I have to, it beats reading the play by play............but can get frustrating at times :x |

the broadband games i watched last year were AWFUL. the screen always froze up, like you just mentioned, and if it was actually showing motion it wasn't very clear! and that was when you had to pay 15 bucks for it, so that was a disappointment.
so no you aren't the only one!
i haven't tried it this year yet though. i'll keep my fingers crossed for a good picture! |

An article from today's Arizona Republic...
Mercury get boost from Taylor's return
Quote: After tonight's game, the Mercury are at Houston, Los Angeles and Sacramento.
At 1-3, they are looking at a possible 1-7 if they don't beat Seattle.
- gettin' a little pessimistic there, aren't they?
Why stop at 1-7... we're looking at a possible 1-12 if we don't beat Seattle, Houston, LA, Sacramento, San Antonio, NY, Washington, Minnesota & Connecticut! |

This team is going to feed off of the 3 all season, but unfortunately we're not getting it done.
At least the post players were used more during the game. |

Merc need a win bad, I hope Kamila helps this team out.. 1-4 is scary..and tonight..urghh
Taurasi 27
Rest of team... 40...13 more than Taurasi, and Taurasi didn't have that great of a second half..
I hope that the rest of the team picks it up, (And I mean the rest of the team as in everyone but Anna and Diana, Anna had a bad game tonight, ..but she has been great in the past four games..and exclude Penny from that, being it was her first game) and I hope that Kamila brings that much needed presence in the post..because it is really hard to look at the positive side...1-4 is scary, even though it's the beggining of the season, it gives the merc that much more catching up to do. |

The Mercury Have Better Get There Act Together And I Mean Fast !!!
They are now 1 win and 4 losses. That is pathetic for a team with as much talent as they have.
Coach Graf needs to get on their A$$es and make them play defense. This is the second home game in a row this year that I have seen easy basket after easy basket under the basket in the paint by the opposing team.
If this team digs a deeper hole than Coach Graf needs to shape this team up or she needs to ship out !!!
Cynthia Cooper would be reeming these ladies A$$es if she had the opportunity to coach this current team ! |
