Kentucky hires Read as assistant UK Hoops Coach

Vonn Read has been hired as an assistant women's coach at Kentucky.
The 33-year-old Read worked from 1999 to 2004 with the N-B-A's Orlando Magic as a scout. He also has extensive experience in the W-N-B-A, working as an assistant with the Phoenix Mercury in 2000, the Orlando Miracle in 2002 and the San Antonio Silver Stars in 2004. He was an advance scout for another W-N-B-A team, the Charlotte Sting, in 2003.
This year, Read worked as an assistant coach for the Dodge City Legend of the United States Basketball League.
Read replaces Matthew Mitchell on Kentucky's staff. Mitchell was named as Morehead State's head coach on April 25th.
