As we embark on our 9th season anticipation is high on our chances to win a title. We have some great players and an awesome coaching staff. Things are looking up. However, one issue still needs attention and that is retiring Jen Gillom's number. We need to start a campaign to make this happen. In my opinion Jen was the Mercury. She gave her heart and soul to the team. Game after game she came to play.
I have an idea of how we can send a message loud and clear to Seth Sulka and the rest of the Mercury organization. Let's make sings to hold up at at least the first game stating something to the effect Retire #22. IS anybody up for this? I will make one and hold it up for sure. I am also considering getting a petition started and take it all the way to the WNBA league office if we have to. Jen's number must be retired. Until I see her number hanging in the rafters I will not be happy. |
