Game tonight at 4:00 pm local time.
listed as being on NBALP (Nat TV) and (KMVP 860 Radio).

I remember last year there was an emphasis on winning, to
install a winning attitude coming off an 8 win season. I wonder
if perhaps there will be less of an emphasis on winning and more
on player evaluation this year.

another board mentioned that none of the preseason games were really on the NBA League Pass (nbalp). Does anyone have the League Pass? if so, please let us know if there really was a game.

The Merc's website lists the game as 5p local time; azcentral.com says it will be on local radio (KMVP 860AM), but I wouldn't take that as written in stone....

Thanks for the correction. I could have sworn the Merc site said 4pm
earlier today, but say 5pm now for sure.

Those without a radio might try the audio link at
http://www.wibc.com/

Pacer games are blocked, but it doesn't mention Fever games.

http://www.wnba.com/broadband/ had game broadcast last
year, but it doesn't seem like they are up to speed yet.

Uhhhh, just recovering from the shock of the final score of 84-59, Indiana. Thank goodness it's only preseason.

Things will be different when we have our full squad.

Actually, once you get over the score, which really doesn't mean much in preseason, there are some real positives, IMO.

Here is a link to the box score:

http://www.wnba.com/games/20050510/PHOIND/boxscore.html

We shot very poorly. 31% total 15% from the 3. 61% from the line. YIKES! But I really don't expect that to continue. Some players were playing slightly out of position. And we were only two points less in the paint (our nemesis). And while our starters played more minutes, they outshot Indiana's starters (this doesn't mean alot because both teams were terrible.)

We only had 14 turnovers....a good number for the first game. Sandora had 3 blocks. She and Williams had respectable rebounding #'s as well.

If and when we find our shot....look out. :)

Yeah, our shooters are just finding their range. I'll also check for a funky alignment of planets because Diana, Anna and Belinda all having off nights at the same time wouldn't be a common occurrence.

The one thing I am worried about is how Indy's smaller and quicker guards seemed to score easily against our bigger and slower guards. Sandora's shotblocking will help a bit (disincentive to penetrate) but it was a concern last year and will be again this year.

Indiana's roster...full strength.

Phoenix...missing Penny Taylor and Kamila Vodichkova.

Don't know how much they would have played or how much they could have lessened the slaughter, but we will be a completely different team when they arrive.
