If we're going to throw Vealy in the deep end for big minutes, I'm not sure that Seattle is the opponent to do it against, but hey I'll just be happy to see double digits in the minutes column for these girls.
Go Mercury. Beat LJ! Beat LJ! (but not too much alright ;) |

Start Veal and Grubin, Have GG guard Bird and Veal guard Barnes....you cannot teal me Barnes is that much quicker then Vealy...and anyway, if we had a decent interior defense, it would not be so tragic if a guard got past Vealy because the post players would be there to help....
We have 5 days off between Prtland on Sunday and Utah on Friday. I say a defensive mini camp is long overdue! |

| Knowing Lin Dunn, she'll shuffle the starting lineup again in a way that will screw up the other team and her own. |

We don't want sole possession of this record... Go Merc!
Keys to victory:
Veal Starts or at least plays 20 minutes (yeah like that's gonna happen)
Kayte plays 20 minutes scores 10 and has 4 fouls (if she's not fouling she's not playing D)
GG hits 4 3-pointers
Williams has no TO's and also scores 10 and is the leading rebounder
Jen has a typical game (that's all she needs to do, you know 20 points)
Lisa needs to play the same game as Wednesday, but w/o the TO's
Players 7-10 need to average more than 5 minutes each (so the starter's can not be tired and collapse at the end)
Is it true that the second team often beats the first team in practice? I think you need to reward practice performance with playing time, So if the road losing continues I would start the 2nd team over the 1st team(except Jen) just once to try and motivate the starters (at this point I'd try just about anything) especially after tonight if we can't pull the win out :!: |

Here is my first stab at suggested minute allocation with current line-up:
PG: Veal 15, Moises 15, Grubin 10
SG: Grubin 20, Reid 20
SF: Harrison 30, Reid 5, Saunders 5
PF: Gillom 25, Tuvic 10, Oksana 5
C: Christensen 20, Williams 20
Note: Starters are listed first, minute allocation took preference over actual position played.
We must win at Seattle and against Portland to get back in the playoff hunt. Go Mercury! More minutes for Veal and Christensen! |

I like it MB, but I would add 1 thing:
No player plays more than 15 minutes per half (preferrably not all at one time either) |

| This is pure loony! A team does not go 8-2 at home with a win over Houston, and 0-11 on the road. (Yes, I am including today.) Kayte goes 9 min. and not one board? In 26 min. of game time only 12 made shots? This is all in the head. The only question left in the season may be whether the beating today is so bad that the team compleatly folds. As I write this they are down 36 points. This team needs electroshock treatment. Or something... |

| Has anyone ever been able to listen to the Phoenix feed on Audio Season Pass?? Not that anyone would want to listen to this game tonight.... Gee, has Coach Sharp (as a tack) actually allowed Vealy to play six minutes??!! |

| Well I suppose if you're going to set a WNBA futility record, you might as well do a thorough job of it. A 41-point loss to a sub-.500 team? OUCH!     |

:( that was brutal.... well we got our 'wish' - Veal played 15 min, 3 assists, 4TO; Tuvic played 10 min, 4 pts, 3 boards; Oksana played 10 min, Kayte played 21 min then fouled out....... why do I still feel we got screwed by the coach? Moises and Tuvic didn't play the first half... most of the bench minutes came when the game was out of hand. At least we scored more points in the second half.
How demoralizing....
We'd better not hear any 'I told you so...' from the coach, this better not be used as an example to keep people on the bench. Instead it should be an example of using the bench more - sorta' like we did in the beginning of the season |

| Um, does anyone have Cynthia Coopers number so we can give her her job back for the rest of the season? I know shes rolling on the floor with this one! It's mental, all mental. Once the home teams crowd gets involved, we fold and go home, LOSERS :!: If our offence, I mean Gillom doesn't score 20 points per night, we lose by 41, PATHETIC :x |

Uhg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a shock :!:
I couldn't listen or keep tabs on the game because of work. I finished my project at midnight and decided to see how the game went prior to making my 35 mile drive home. I kept telling myself the Mercury were going to be the winners and put an end to the nasty skid. WRONG. I kept staring at the final score, thinking it must be a joke, a typo. NO such luck :!:
I looked at the spread of minutes and they seemed to be spread out quite a bit, so what happened. I didn't take the time to go through the play-by-play, I was in such shock/disappointment. I guess there were plenty of garbage minutes in this game. :(
It was a long drive home. . .
Dig deep Mercury! Get the rotation down Sharp!
Contrary to how your coaching the Mercury are a Playoff caliber team, so let them show it :!: :!: :!: |

Is there still anyone wondering why Sharp was fired by LA after 11 games? Unlike most of the people here I was a Cooper supporter and thought their playoff chances were gone the day she resigned, but even I didn't imagine they'd sink this low this fast. Even the Shock under Greg Williams weren't losing games by 41.
The only silver lining out of this disaster (if there is one), is that the Mercury's chances of landing a top two pick in next year's draft lottery have improved dramatically, seeing as they are currently tied for the 4th-worst record in the league. Get a top pick, take Chantelle Anderson to play center, get a real point guard in there, either by making a blockbuster trade or else firmly committing to Veal, and most importantly find a coach who actually knows what the hell he/she is doing, and this team is right back to being a serious playoff threat again. |
