Bears reawaken. Harcum College had been without any sports program since 1999 until the Bears returned to action last week in women's basketball with an 89-50 victory over Cumberland College.
Harcum's roster is dominated by players with local high school backgrounds. Tammy Frazier, the daughter of Marvis Frazier and granddaughter of Joe Frazier, both boxing notables, played at Cheltenham. Earlana Simpson is a graduate of Simon Gratz, Kristian Woodridge went to Abington, Carla McPherson attended West Catholic, and Ebony Fowlkes graduated from University City.
Harcum is coached by Paul Rieser, the former head women's basketball coach at Chestnut Hill College. |
