Did anyone see that game? I think that we've found the problem of the Mystics. It's not that noone was helping Chamique, it was the fact that she wasn't helping anyone around her. I think that the smartest decision by the Mystics organization was getting Alana Beard in the draft. Chamiqe is more than likely shocked at what Beard is doing during her first season with the team that she was supposed to be leading. So to all the people that think Chamique is the team, what are you gonna say when they make the playoffs without Chamique?
Chamique was but Alana IS. |

| No arguments from me. I always knew that Alana had the skills. Maybe mique didn't know how to share the court with someone of Alana's caliber. Methinks she needs to learn. Alana has now proven herself to the coach and everyone else. |

It's going to be interesting when Mique returns as its now Alana team and with less headaches. Since Mique has run off just about everyone in Washington, it will be interesting. I think the Mystics could make it to the East finals, then that would really create drama. Mique never took them past the first round.
The drama unfolds... |

Actually, Washington made the Eastern Conference Finals in 2002, where they lost to New York. |

| I figured you would correct me, Cam. :) I like the way the Mystics are playing now, everyone is involved with the offense. |

Hmmm, catch the final game between the Mystics and Connecticut? Sounds just like what you're talking about, but wait, Chamique wasn't there, but it sure looks like the same thing doesn't it, all Miques fault there too? |

| Alana is the next generation of Chamique...the star that WS&E tries to buid around, but surrounds the player with a supporting cast who stands around while the player herself has to do everything except serve the popcorn. |

Well, I hope they can choose sides or flip coins on which side of the MCI to sell that popcorn next year, I really want her to stay in Washington(Mique), and get her situation resolved. It could have been the best thing for the Mystics this year, her being out, if it was what allowed or helped Beard to finally take flight.
Didn't Mique talk to Alana and stay in contact with her a lot during her senior year at Duke, I mean why is it that Mique is always the selfish one, etc.. why is it when she puts out everything she has on the court, that she is a stat padding ballhog, all problems point to Mique, and when other superstars are in the same situation, that the story is that they are just doing the best they can, with no help, or stupid coaching, etc... pick an excuse they all fit.
Micahael Adams is about as bad with the press as the Claw, he comes off clueless at all times, of course he's just playing with the hand he was dealt, but it just feeds into the speculation, and some of his earlier quotes about he hadn't seen Mique, or hadn't heard from her, etc.... he's great for the Public Relations nightmare this thing has turned into. |

Rebkell, Marianne Stanley spoke to Alana during Alana's senior year. And Mique spoke to her once or twice before the draft (and one might have been in-person).
It remains to be seen if Alana's newfound game can be played with Holdsclaw's stellar play...they had VERY FEW games in which they both played well (only one comes to mind, and Washington lost). |

I'm guessing that would be the Seattle game, Mique got the last shot blocked, and Bird races down court and throws up a circus shot that went in.
I've always wondered, if Mique is having self confidence issues, if that wasn't the game that really put her in the funk, she never had another good game after that one, and lots of things make me wonder about it. In particular the horrendous game the team had at Charlotte, and then she comes back for that one game against Detroit, and had another subpar game. |
