I wonder if anyone can tell me why Channel 12 (NBC in Phoenix) has a results show prior to the primetime broadcast?
I was in a bit of a media blackout Monday and fell out when they announced the men's gymnastics team winning the silver and talked to Jason Gatson's coach. They were asking the coach questions about Gatson's performance and the coach could only say "uhm something bad must have happened, I haven't seen the performance to comment anymore" Duh!
Are any other NBC affiliates doing the same thing? On the plus side they did interview Graffy about Diana and Penny with a plug for the Mercury. |

| A lot of people have complained about that. I was actually disappointed because I waiting for the men's gymnastics final to come on, and they just announced it. A local radio here said that their tactic must be to ruin the experience for everyone who is watching NBC later that night. Hopefully, NBC does something. |

i agree!!
i went to the nbcolympics.com website this afternoon to look up something totally random about soccer from yesterday and on the front page it told me that Paul Hamm won gymnastics tonight!
THEN to make it worse.... i went there later and they changed the front page and it only said something like 'can he win'... what is that about?!
why tell me the results earlier then try to hide it later?! they already ruined it for me! |

I was upset about some other events as well. NBC is showing the "big" events later at night, but they post results all around the NBCOlympic.com website.
It doesn't really help that other news sites put up the results as well. The front page for my cable company basically plastered the results for the swimming and gymnastics competitions tonight. |

| I was really pissed off when they warned us not to look due to results being posted. Then as fast as I turned my head & reached for the mute button on the remote, they said them out loud and continued to say the same thing about not "looking". I don't watch NBC channel 12 any more unless an olympic event is being shown at the time. The NBC cable affiliates haven't mentioned any results yet, but I won't watch them either if its a news/sports show just in case. |
